Explanation
I was out of the country when news broke of the nomination. Because of the importance of the swing vote in question I am retracing the process from the announcement on. That is why it's taking me a bit to get to the substantive concerns surrounding this nominee, well, that and the fact that while the President knows her quite well, the rest of us do not. I am not sure what to make of this nominee, but I just know it is fun watching Bush’s base jump ship on his choice. When it was Roberts, the right told us on the left to stop gripping and it is the president’s choice. But now that he has decided to perform the most outrageous act of cronyism the right is singing a different tune.
